hello! i’m jules scheele, a freelance illustrator, comics artist and graphic facilitator based in Glasgow. I specialise in graphic storytelling and illustrations that help translate and bring a human touch to difficult concepts, and my art focuses strongly on mental health, queerness, acitivism and community.
over the last few years I have illustrated a couple of icon books’ graphic history series, most notably Queer: A Graphic History, written by Dr. Meg-John Barker. The book is available in all good book stores and also through Amazon. Gender: A Graphic guide will be out in late 2019.

from 2014-2018 i ran One Beat Zines (with sarah broadhurst), a feminist zine collective and distro. currently I co-run Ghost comics festival (with joão sobral and jessica taylor), a yearly festival that showcases the work of alternative comics artists based in glasgow.
